When questioning self identity, we reveal the self to the self. I begin this process by internally examining external forces—social, historic & cultural—that shape my ability to understand the person I believe myself to be. It is also a powerful method that helps me to understand myself as the individual who is mirrored in the eyes of another. When we look to themes in art, science, literature & film to see how visual & written narratives unwittingly shape our understanding of each other, we learn the lengths & depths in which we have all participated in constructing this complicated reality of otherness. In this moment of awakening consider dancing with this mirrored reflection of your own constructed identity. See what secrets are revealed to you as you move in rhythm with the self now awakened. – Dorotha Grace Lemeh, 2019
